T-REX Training

DINO Software offers a training class for T-REX users which is conducted by senior DINO personnel or certified, outside contractors. The course provides in class discussion of basic catalog management techniques using the T-REX command set. Hands-on labs give the student the opportunity to get first hand practice with T-REX commands. The T-REX command set is presented in a task oriented model. The students learn both the commands and associated parameters in the context of accomplishing a particular catalog management task. Topics include:

  • Installation requirements and default table settings
  • Basic catalog structure records; BCS, VVDS and VTOC records
  • The T-REX command set
  • Backup and Recovery
    • Catalog record maintenance and repair
    • Catalog reorgs
    • Catalog splits and/or merges
  • Use of the ISPF interface
